These certifications are identified by distinctive markings, such as the IMO-MED certification symbol: a pictogram in the shape of a “rudder” with defined and unalterable characteristics such as dimensions or production batch identification numbers.

What is IMO-MED certification and what guarantees does it offer?
The IMO, International Maritime Organization, is the United Nations specialized agency responsible for developing principles and techniques for international maritime navigation to ensure order and safety.
The MED (Marine Equipment Directive) 2014/90/EU aims to standardize, at European level, the conformity of equipment intended for passenger and cargo ships.
Not only equipment but also furnishings, sun decks, and control panels are tested, areas where our materials represent a market benchmark in terms of aesthetics and performance. By testing the reaction to fire and analyzing the toxicity and opacity of the fumes, we achieve high levels of fire resistance, ensuring the safety of those who come into contact with it and the marine environment. The tests are conducted by accredited external laboratories and our fabrics are marked with the “Rudder” symbol.
